Meet Our Staff
 
The Board of Directors is composed of 15 volunteer members representing the surrounding community. They serve a four-year term with rotating officers. The Board meets monthly and is primarily responsible for fund raising, public information and policy review. The Evans Home Board represents the best the community has to offer in terms of leadership, dedication and compassion for the mission of the program.
 
 

Marc Jaccard (Executive Director)

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Marc is a husband, father of two young children, and a foster parent. He joined the Evans Home as program director in 1995 in order to transition to his current position which he assumed in 1999 following long time director, M. Kirby Lloyd. Marc has many years of experience working with children in a range of areas including substance abuse prevention, education, and treatment of children with special needs. His goal has always been to create a permanent home in which previously unappreciated children feel safe enough to dream. 

Laura Regan (Program Director)

A graduate of Hofstra University in New York, Laura joined the Evans Home in January 1999. She has an extensive background in special education and over twenty years of experience in working with children. Laura enjoys creating an educational environment that challenges children to think, learn and dream. Laura in the news.  

Kris Short (Program Manager)

Kris earned a B.S. in Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg. With over 10 years in human services Kris brings a well rounded community services based approach to helping kids understand their place in the community at large.

Frank Paige (Independent Living Coordinator)

Formerly a house father for three and a half years, Frankie brings a thorough understanding of our kids’ lives to his new position. Frankie is instrumental in preparing older residents for adulthood as he guidesthem through their first employment experiences, financial management, preparation for college or vocational training . . . and DMV! Frankie is himself a father of three and as a former baseballplayer for George Mason University,he has an enthusiasm for sports that encourages both boys and girls.

Collette Hawes (Administrative Assistant)

Collette began working for The Evans Home Dec 2007, she is a mom and a grandmother. A Graduate of Brunswick High School in Brunswick MD. Many years of experience in accounting. 

 

Mike and Winona Powers (House Parents)

Mike and Winona joined the Evans Home in September 2001.   Parents of two grown children, they have also served for the past eight years as foster parents for Social Services in their hometown of Cumberland, MD and continue to provide respite and emergency care.   Mike enjoys hunting, fishing and music while Winona’s enthusiasm for exercising, gardening and decorating is contagious.  With their strong sense of family, Mike and Winona balance fun and nurturing in our kids’ lives.
